17 SNT's Begin Operations, Marking a New Chapter in Equalizing Quality Education
BOGOR — A total of 17 Integrated National Schools (Sekolah Nasional Terintegrasi, or SNT) across Indonesia officially launched educational services today for the 2026/2027 academic year. The rollout represents a major step in the government's drive to expand equitable access to high-quality education while creating learning environments where every student can fully develop their potential, talents, and interests.
Operations began with the launch of the Friendly School Environment Orientation Period (MPLS) on Monday, Aug. 10. Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu’ti attended the first day of orientation at SNT 7 Bogor in West Java, leading the opening ceremony.
Minister Mu’ti emphasized that the establishment of SNT is part of a national effort to build superior human capital in line with the "Golden Indonesia 2045" vision. He described the launch for the 2026/2027 academic year as a historic moment for national education.
"Integrated National Schools are a specialized educational model developed under Presidential Instructions to support our national goal of achieving Golden Indonesia 2045," Mu’ti said. "The launch of these schools for the 2026/2027 academic year marks a historic milestone in Indonesian education."
According to Mu’ti, SNT campuses offer tailored educational environments that enable students with exceptional academic and non-academic capabilities to excel.
"The goal is to provide dedicated opportunities and services for children with extraordinary abilities—both academic and non-academic—so they can grow faster and reach further," he said.
SNT campuses are designed as regional hubs of educational excellence, aimed at lifting academic standards in surrounding areas. Recognizing that students have diverse learning needs, the minister emphasized the importance of adaptive educational approaches.
"This specialized model gives you a pathway to grow according to your academic abilities and develop into the generation of leaders for Indonesia 2045," Mu'ti told incoming students.
To ensure operations began on schedule for the 2026/2027 school year, the government is initially utilizing existing facilities owned by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education and local regional governments. Dedicated, permanent campus facilities with enhanced infrastructure are currently under development.
"In this initial phase, the 17 schools are using existing Ministry and regional government facilities," Mu’ti explained. "Construction is underway, and by next year, we expect SNT campuses to operate in fully equipped permanent facilities to give you the best possible learning environment."
The first day of school marked a new chapter for the inaugural class, who brought diverse achievements and ambitions to their new learning environment.
Among them is Agisni Ramadani, a middle school student at SNT 7 Bogor who previously graduated at the top of her class. She hopes SNT will help her achieve her long-term goals.
"I am so excited to be accepted here," Agisni said. "I hope to keep improving and growing. My dream is to become a medical specialist."
Nadine A. Zuhrah Farista, a 10th-grade student at SNT 7 Bogor, joined the school with strong non-academic credentials, having earned the prestigious Pramuka Garuda (Garuda Scout) rank.
"My hope is to continue developing here and become even better than before," Nadine said.
The launch of these 17 SNT campuses represents the government's opening phase in building educational environments where students nationwide can learn, excel, and reach their full potential. Through SNT, the ministry remains committed to broadening access to quality education and preparing a competitive generation for Indonesia's future.
